Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PromoIQ.
General
How does PromoIQ auto-apply promo codes?
When you reach a checkout page, click PromoIQ and choose Auto-Apply. PromoIQ detects the promo code input field, tests available code candidates one by one, and keeps the code that saves you the most money while you stay in control.
Which stores does PromoIQ support?
PromoIQ works across 33 supported retailer domains. See the current supported-store list at promoiq.co/supported-stores. We're constantly adding new stores based on user demand. If your favorite store isn't supported yet, let us know!
Is PromoIQ free?
Yes! PromoIQ is free for shoppers. We earn through affiliate commissions when a user chooses a deal or retailer link, not through subscriptions or checkout payment flows.
Privacy & Security
Does PromoIQ track my browsing data?
PromoIQ uses only the current product page when you click. We do not collect personal data or sell browsing history. The limited product, price, cart, and URL data needed for an active lookup is described in our privacy policy.
What permissions does PromoIQ need?
PromoIQ uses
activeTab, storage, scripting, and tabs so it can read the current product or checkout page when you click and open an offer you choose. It also uses context menus, local alarms, notifications, and the side panel for shopper-facing features. Its host access is limited to 33 supported retailer domains plus PromoIQ service endpoints — the retailers you shop, not every site on the web. See the full privacy policy and Chrome’s install prompt for details.
How is PromoIQ different from Honey?
Three big differences: 1) We label codes with confidence signals — checkout-proof, community-tested, or unverified — so you can see what evidence is behind each candidate. 2) We never track your browsing — Honey runs 24/7 and feeds data to PayPal. 3) We compare prices across 33 supported retailer domains with direct links — Honey mostly keeps you on one site. Read our detailed PromoIQ vs Honey comparison.
Troubleshooting
PromoIQ isn't finding codes on a site. What should I do?
First, make sure you're on the checkout page — PromoIQ activates at checkout, not on product pages. If you're at checkout and it's not working: 1) Click the PromoIQ icon to trigger a manual scan. 2) Try refreshing the page. 3) Check if the site is in our supported retailers list. Some sites use custom checkout systems that we may not support yet — we're adding new stores constantly.
The auto-apply found a code but it didn't reduce my total. Why?
Some promo codes have conditions: minimum purchase amounts, specific product categories, or first-time customer restrictions. PromoIQ shows codes with the highest community success rate, but individual results can vary based on your cart contents and account status. We're working on smarter filtering to match codes to your specific cart.
How do I uninstall PromoIQ?
Right-click the PromoIQ icon in your Chrome toolbar and select "Remove from Chrome." All local data is deleted immediately — we don't keep anything on our servers. We'd love to know why you're leaving so we can improve — you can share feedback on our uninstall page.
Revenue Model
How does PromoIQ make money?
PromoIQ earns affiliate commissions from supported retailer links. There is no Stripe checkout, subscription plan, or paid Premium tier for users.
Is there a paid Premium plan to cancel?
No. PromoIQ does not currently offer a paid Premium plan, free trial, Stripe checkout, or subscription portal. If that changes, this FAQ and the public pricing copy will say so before any user is asked to pay.
